Planning Your Visit to Château de La Chaize

Before booking a visit to Château de La Chaize, a few questions often come up. Can you visit the gardens? Do you need to book in advance? Are tours available in English? What is the difference between the various experiences?

Visitors can discover the estate through a range of experiences: a tour of the wine estate and its gardens designed by André Le Nôtre, a wine cellar tour, wine tastings, workshops dedicated to Gamay, or even a blending workshop where each guest leaves with their own personalised bottle.

Visits are available by reservation and generally last between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on the experience selected. All our experiences are available in both French and English, allowing international visitors to discover the heritage and wines of Beaujolais.

Among the most frequently asked questions, many visitors want to know whether they can visit the gardens or explore the grounds independently. The historic gardens can be discovered as part of the estate’s guided tours, helping to ensure the preservation of this exceptional heritage.

During our tours, conversations often turn to the history of the Château and everyday life at the estate. Is the Château still inhabited? Who was its former owner? How many people work at the estate today? What does the future hold following the extensive restoration work undertaken in recent years?

These questions offer an opportunity to tell the story of an estate undergoing a remarkable renaissance. Since 2017, significant investment has enabled the restoration of the Château, its gardens, wineries and winemaking facilities, with the ambition of preserving this unique heritage for future generations while continuing to develop wine tourism in Beaujolais.

Visitors are also keen to learn more about the vineyards: when does the harvest take place? How many bottles are produced each year? How do the estate’s teams work throughout the seasons? With 110 hectares of vineyards spread across several of Beaujolais’ iconic crus, including Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie, Château de La Chaize produces several hundred thousand bottles each year while maintaining exacting standards in both viticulture and wine quality.

Finally, many questions concern the events held at the estate. Seminars, team-building events, private wine tastings, birthdays, after-work gatherings and gastronomic experiences are now an integral part of life at the Château, which has established itself as one of the must-visit destinations for discovering wine, heritage and the Beaujolais art of living.
