2025 Wine Tourism Awards: A Distinction Close to Our Hearts
Château de La Chaize is proud to have received the 2025 Wine Tourism Award in the category “Education & Environmental Stewardship.”
This distinction honors our daily commitment to sustainable viticulture and our dedication to offering unique and authentic wine experiences in the heart of the Beaujolais region.
A Must-See Stop on the Beaujolais Wine Route
Located just a few kilometers from Lyon, at the foot of the Beaujolais hills, Château de La Chaize is an essential stop on the Beaujolais wine route.
Open year-round from Tuesday to Saturday, we welcome visitors to discover our 300-year-old estate and its rich heritage.
Our guided tours take curious minds on a journey through the history of the estate, founded in 1676, and behind the scenes of our winemaking practices: stroll through the gardens designed by André Le Nôtre, explore the historic wine cellar and gravity-fed semi-underground vat room, and learn about our sustainable vineyard management. Each visit is immersive, educational, and sensory.
A Wine Tourism Experience Rooted in Sustainability
Receiving this award in the category of “Education & Environmental Stewardship” holds special meaning for us. For several years now, Château de La Chaize has committed to carbon neutrality, with a strong focus on energy autonomy, biodiversity conservation, agroforestry, and the reintroduction of sheep grazing in our vineyards.
These tangible actions are at the heart of our vision of responsible wine tourism, where pleasure goes hand in hand with environmental awareness.
A Memorable Wine Experience
More than just an activity in Beaujolais, our wine tourism offering invites visitors to immerse themselves in the soul of the estate.
Enjoy guided tastings of our iconic crus (Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Fleurie, and Morgon), stroll through our walled vineyard, and connect with the people behind the wines. Every visit is a complete wine experience, designed to awaken the senses and inspire curiosity.
Thank You to Terre de Vins and to All Our Visitors
We warmly thank Terre de Vins magazine and Atout France for organizing the Wine Tourism Awards, which shine a spotlight on the most inspiring wine initiatives across France.
This award is also yours: loyal visitors, curious explorers, dedicated partners, and passionate team members—you are our greatest motivation to keep sharing the story of Beaujolais.
