Brouilly Réserve de la Marquise
A blend of grapes from our best parcels. Selection varies depending on the year. Primarily old vines on the estate, several parcels are over sixty years old. Low yields, extremely high quality.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Selection of the estate’s best parcels. Wines then go into the cellar where they spend 18 months in new demi-muids (600-liter capacity oak barrels).
Slightly filtered, no fining.
Deep ruby-red robe.
Intense nose of powerful red fruit - cherry, Morello cherry, black currant, slightly roasted notes with some spice.
Great elegance on the palate, complex and round. Dark fruit and spice take over, tannins are present, very silky.
Drinkable as of the present time, this wine will improve with age and can be cellared for 7 to 10 years.
We recommend opening the wine one hour before serving and serving it at room temperature.
A great long-keeping wine, its complexity pairs beautifully with several kinds of dishes. We recommend serving it with: Pigeon, quail, rack of lamb with herbs, or rougail of sea bream.
